Here is a soldier in a very exposed position overlooking a TV station that we were helping the Iraqi people set up in Baghdad. This was during the "honeymoon" phase immediately after the Invasion in 2003.
He is casual and relaxed with his helmet off, and like most of us, he thought the fighting was over. That soon proved to not be the case as the insurgency started with a roar within days of this picture. The newly trained anchors and technicians were murdered at their homes, the station was attacked, the antenna destroyed and we were introduced to guerilla war.
