I can't comment on the Tele Custom, but the Tele Custom II is a truly great guitar . After a good setup and new nut, mine sounds amazing . Everyone who has heard it agrees . The sound has so much depth and character .

I've said before I think the Squiers they're coming out with now are as good, sound and quality-wise, as their US-made older brothers or, at least, they're really, really, really close. I'm thinking, though, is Fender shooting itself in the foot by offering such good guitars at a very low price while keeping the prices on their American-made models way up there?

Courtney Love had her own Squier Signature model, the Venus, a guitar that she still uses live.

She, together with Bonny Raitt are the only women fender endorsies who got their own signature models.

Another famous fan of the Squier Venus was Kula Shaker's lead singer/Guitarist Chrispian Mills (what happened to him anyway?) who used the twelve string version.

Weren't Courtney's Venuses Fender Custom Shop models, not Squiers? The ones I see her pictured with certainly aren't Squiers.

Courtney's most well known venus, the baby blue one with the Black pickguard was indeed a fender custom shop one off. It differend from the squier version by having a set neck.

But she also used a black squier Venus (with a replaced Fender branded neck, because she likes to toss her guitars around a lot the Squier neck got damaged)a white Squier Venus, a sunburst Tewlve string Venus and (as also used in the video for "Celebrity skin") a Pink Venus which was rather crudely modified with purple lipstick having the word "Dork" written on the upper part of it's body.

Louie Perez of Los Lobos was indeed playing a Squier Tele on stage this summer. (Of course, David Hidalgo had a veritable guitar museum on stands all around him.) Buddy Guy's bass player had a Squier P-bass at the same venue.

Jeff Healey uses a Squier. I don't think he's very well known, but if you haven't heard him, you need to.

Courtney Love's Venus guitars have the "Fender" logo. Even if it said "Squier" it would be a marketing ploy since most Squiers don't come straight from the Fender Custom Shop. ;-)

Ben Gibbard from Death Cab From Cutie has a Squier Bullet Strat as his main guitar! :)

I have a mid-70's Gibson SG, and a brand new Fender American Delux Strat. But I also have a mid-80s MIJ Squier Strat and a 2003 Squier Standard Tele made in Indonesia. I switched out the tuners for locking tuners on both Squiers. The tuners were actually pretty good, but I wanted better for playing live. I switched out the pickups in the MIJ Strat for 2 vintage Seymour Duncans and a mini JB. But the thing is beautiful and plays even better. The sound is pure Strat. The Indonesian Tele is unreal. I didn't even want to switch out the pickups. What tone! It plays well too with minor setup changes for 10s. The other thing I'd like to do is roll the fretboard edges to soften the feel. But it's a great guitar. Huge value for your dollar. It's just hard to get past that Fender name thing.

I read in an interview with Robin Trower that he uses Squiers. I think he may mix and match the bodies and necks with Amer. strats.

If any of you young whippersnappers don't know who Robin Trower is you need to check him out.
One of the best finger vibrato's in the guitar world.

I think I saw Amos Garrett playing a Squier, and Courtney Love.
