ok I have but a small handful of suggestions.
I need to ramp this up so we can get a decent list to par down to about 40-45 tunes. Email me, post in this thread, or send smoke signals. I want to get enough so I can post the songs and YouTube links so we can start a List of Love to vote on.

The Holiday responsibilities are done and now we can concentrate on some music!

OK, I'm finally back from the work week from hell. ready to talk about songs. I'm trying to think of something particularly DC related... the locally grown music style is called go-go and i really don't care for it. (no, not that kind of go-go music)
I figured it's Our Nation's Capital so why not a theme of "America"?
American girl, tom petty
American woman, guess who/Lenny Kravitz
kids in America, Kim Wilde
America, Simon & Garfunkel
surfing USA?

it's an idea

Members of the DC Jam-Clan. Littlehand has rattled the cage, and I am in. You have a "Drum-Beater".

Andrew; I am definitely interested in the Saturday night "Hang-Out" and stay over, any suggestions on Hotel Rooms and other info is greatly appreciated. Also, if you need any drum or percussion items, let me know.

Peegoo; I have 4-mic & stand set ups if needed for your PA System. I know G-Man is going to want my music stands, that's routine.

Let's get this party started!

Fantastic, Griz! We also have a local drummer, so you can switch off and have a brew. I do have a 1980s Slingerland drum kit. Ludwig snare. Sabian/ Ziljan ride, crash, high hat. I restored it myself a few years ago, but I am not a drummer so will try to get someone to check setup & tuning before 3/6. Transport is another issue, as my car will be packed.

Andrew- just let us know what needs to be transported and I am sure we can round up a posse to assist.

Good to see all my Joisey brethren with our "Roar From the Shore" sounding loud and clear to help make this jam happen!

Everyone send me song pics...we are still in need of getting a list together. Google doc to come soon!
Andrew; you are talking my era of drums, I love it! By the way, did you know that I'm an amateur drum technician; have whatever you want done to them and I can fine tune them before the jam.

The more drummers the better; as far as equipment transport, I will have my cargo van, we just need to coordinate pick up & delivery. I intend to come Saturday, so we have time to play with, we can make this happen.

Re. hotels/motels near the Electric Maid, the jam venue at 268 Carroll St NW, Takoma, DC.

I will add to these suggestions, as time/info allow. Note that I do not have personal experience with most of these places but have looked on Yelp and asked a friend who lives nearby. Please do your own verification and map-checking.

Econo Lodge, 7411 New Hampshire Avenue, Bldg. 2, Takoma Park, MD 20912. (301) 439-3003 . The review: http://www.yelp.com/biz/econo-lodge-takoma-park-3 : less than 10 minutes from venue.

There are many hotels/motels on Georgia Ave. and Colesville Rd. in Maryland, which would be less than 15 min. drive. Georgia Ave. motels are the least expensive and close to East-West Highway, for easy access to Takoma.

The Embassy Suites at the Chevy Chase Pavilion, 4300 Military Rd. NW, right off Wisconsin Ave., near my house, about 20 min drive from the venue. I have used this one for my family and relatives. Itâs nice and includes breakfast.
