If you're looking used, I would suggest the Digitech Hardwire SC-2 Valve Distortion. Does great Marshall-ish tones from low to higher gain and the separate Low and High EQ knobs are great. For $40 used, it has seen more time on my pedalboard than the usual big names (Fulltone, Wampler, etc).

We have the Exotic SP Compressor on our church's pedalboard. It's surprisingly good.

"I just ordered one."

Glad I could help Leftee!

Now DrKev, still interested, or are you going to wait for a full and thorough review by Leftee? :^)

I'll see if I can review it later today. It should deliver today.

I still have a Pigtronix Fat Drive I scored on a SDotD a couple months ago that has gone unplayed. :-/

Maybe today is "play the new pedal day."

Yes, I am holding off 'till Leftee's review!

Also, I'm thinking of the Mooer Cruncher. a mini version of the Crunch Box. If I go Crunch Box it'll v2 or v3, though neither Crunch Box or the Cruncher are easy to find on the used market in France at the monent. I guess everybody holds on to them. :-)

With a pedalboard filled with those mini pedals, how does one stomp on them? Do y'all where pointy-toed cowboy boots.

This thing is pretty nice Marshall in a small box. You can get that older Plexi tone that's a little less gainy and darker up to the brighter higher gain metal panel tones.

I wish I still had my Crunch Box to compare. My memory tells me the CB is a little mo-betta. But that could be a lie.

I also tried my Pigtronix Fat Drive in front of this. It makes for very nice tube-screamerish overdriven Marshall tone in front of this pedal. I think I just bumped my Seymour Duncan Twin Tube off the board.

"I wish I still had my Crunch Box to compare. My memory tells me the CB is a little mo-betta. But that could be a lie."

It could be apples & oranges too though.
The SLD is very specifically voiced to the '59 Super Lead/Bass, where the CB is think is more broadly "British" voiced without specifically stating 'Marshall'.

As with all things tone, "betta" is in the ears of the beholder :^)

Glad you're happy with it overall though.
I’ll play with it some more tomorrow. Right now I have it set up in Super Bass mode. I went straight to that. I’ll try Super Lead tomorrow.
