Recording King makes a bunch of parlors in the 2-500 dollar range. I have a single-o 12 fret slothead. Solid spruce top hpl mahogany back and sides. Less than 300 no case or electronics.

If small and durable are required I would suggest considering the Martin LXM. Smaller than a traditional parlor size but they hold up really well and still sound decent. The short scale can take some getting used to but I find I adapt quite quickly to mine.

If you're going to get the Martin LXM, get the LX1 rather than the LXM. Same guitar but it has a solid spruce top and that's why it sounds better. Costs just $20 more. I've owned both. It's definitely worth it. Made in Mexico not Nazareth, PA.

Recording King is made in China. I'd rather have a Seagull parlor, made in Canada, or a Martin LX1, made in Mexico.
