Maybe also some BB King in honor of his inspiration and passing. Maybe The Thrill Is Gone?

Hey g...you know I'm down for whatever you are cookin, but always loves me some Zep or Sabbath ;-)

That Italian video with 1000 playing Learn to Fly has definitely captured my imagination. Pete can easily fit 500 drummers on the soccer field. Failing that, I'll settle for 2 drummers and as many geetars as we can fit on the stage ;-).

Quack I saw that video and its amazing
I think Pete could pull off something like that at the OTL

I can def do me some Foo Fighters
Learning to fly is one of the ones I do sing so lets put that on the list of love to be voted on

for those who have not seen the video.....

Photo was taken by drone at a picnic a couple of weeks ago of 500 employees standing on the ballfield.

There's room for all.

if everyone can agree to play the parts exactly like the audio then we can have multiple bass, guitar, drum players

We can get a huge group of backing vocalists together for the chorus and bridge. If we all follow the audio there should be no train wrecks and could be a lot of fun. Kinda like the finale we do every year

anyway let me know if there is interest in doing it this way.

i am taking notes of all the suggestions in this thread so keep em coming. I will collect them all through August then post them all at the end of the month for voting then we got all of Sept to practice.

OK G-Man, after last year you had me hooked with the horn section, here are some suggestions from the "drum" section: I'll start with these.

"Roll with It"--Steve Winwood
"Saturday in the Park"--Chicago
"Sunshine of your Love"--Cream
"White Room"--Cream
"House Party"--J.Geils Band
"There goes another love song"--Outlaws

I'll let you guys work out the "charts" and "keys"; vocals are anbody that can handle them!

We definitely should do a short BB King tribute, 3-4 songs.

Wanna try a fun horn song, how about "Grits Ain't Groceries"?

Lynn will be coming and has suggested some tunes. A friend of mine who is an excellent vocalist will be coming as well. She does material like we do at Clamfest.

so if you have female voiced songs as suggestions please put them in this thread!

I will create a google doc with everyone's suggestions (and YouTube links) so that you can give a listen before we vote on them at the end of the month

Sounds good G-Man, let the ladies make the suggestions on songs with vocals they can handle. There is no doubt there is plenty of talent available to back them up music wise, no matter which direction they go. I'm chomping at the bit to see the song lists and to get this party started!

I thought the song list should have more guitar oriented stuff and less on the horn stuff. we can still do some horn songs, but with some real good female singers coming, Janis, Heart, Bonnie Raitt, etc seems to be a flavor we should explore.

Maybe even some Taylor Swift

Lynn does the Taylor swift stuff well but not much instrumentation on those tunes. Megan Trainor has some good stuff and some has horns..

here is a tune that Lynn and I do- I play bari sax on it

+10 on house party!

Great guitars, B3, piano, harp, great singalong, killer guitar solos and some amazing drumming

its good song to put a lot of folks on stage at once and have all instrumentation covered as well as easy backing vocals.
