I don't get out much
Feb 8th, 2018 11:20 PM

Used to be that I would get sick of winter mid March.
It's early February and cold as a witches tit.
I am freezing my nuts off splitting wood.
In some cases, the logs are about 1/2 my weight.
Roughly two foot long and 30 inches wide.
Anyone here ever have to split (by hand) wood this big.

I can upload pictures.
Rant over.
cheers

I actually enjoy splitting firewood.

Put each log section in an old tire and you won’t have to chase the splits. They’ll stay together and make it a lot easier.

We gave up on logs for the first time this winter in favour of coal. I`m aiming for a simpler life, even in some little ways. I don`t mind a bit of log splitting if the weather is not too bad, but would rather not have to carry a truck load of logs to the log store from our gate when they are delivered.

Don't they have hydraulic log splitters in Canada?

For a small fee I can ship one :)
