Peegoo, I flew on one of those from Hawaii to SFO when I was coming home on emergency leave from Nam. It was empty (no cargo) but the flight was a disaster. During flight we had an engine fire which was extinguished without any problems. The thing was, we hadn't reached the point of no return, so we turned around and went back to Hickam AFB. I ended up having to take a commercial flight to San Diego.

Those whale planes have been in the sky for a while and I think they are impressive.
