Could be the 11-48's are a thing of the past, courtesy of carpal tunnel and advanced fifties syndrome.

I restrung one of my Strats, set it up and boy does it feel good.

I've teetered between 10's and 11's and settled on the latter as they held up best to my extra attack when playing with a band/gigging. Now I'm just a fat old guy sitting in a chair, I don't need the extra resistance.

Always been a ten guy since my first guitar, tried some 9's a few months ago and I simply could not get the guitar to tune or intonate.

They were EB slinkys.

So, so you think you can tell?

Just moved to all 10s from 9s. As a beginner, thought 9s were the best for me, then i learned something i guess.

Bumped the acoustic from 11s to 12s.

yep. 10's is where it's at for me.
Majority of my guitars are 10-46, but I go 10-52 on a couple of them.

The gtr I have set up for slide, I used to string with jazz sets (13-56) but have since gone down to 11-52.
I thought this thread was going to be about speakers...

I like 10" speakers; a 2x10 can sound huge!

I thought perhaps you competed in a gymnastics competition and stuck all your landings.

I'm still on 11s. But I can see the day approaching when I'll have to go with 10s.

I have 10's on 2 guitars, 11's on the rest (5). This may be a gradual process.

I have 10âs on my longer-scale axed (G&L ASAT & Squier 51) And 11âs on my shorter-scale guitars (PRE SE Soapbar, 335 clone, & Gretsch G5420). Works great for me.

"The gtr I have set up for slide, I used to string with jazz sets (13-56) but have since gone down to 11-52."

Can I quote myself????
Well, anyway, I just did...

With the 11-52's I can still fret note & chords comfortably but with the slightly higher action on that guitar, I wouldn't want to do all day.

When I had the 13-56 on there, it was like playing fencing wire. I don't know how Stevie did it. (even tuned at Eb)
I been playing guitar for close to 50 years and I'm glad I never got into the heavy string thing. I use 9-42's on Fenders and 10-46 on Gibson electrics.

I have some fretting hand issues over the past few years, mostly my pinky which I use more than the average player. I'm staying away from extra long pinky stretches for chords and solos these days (I've had physical therapy on my left hand).
