The neck and middle are still CS 69s. My guy also did the tone to the bridge mod.

Wow is all can say, it really sounds great!

"My guy also did the tone to the bridge mod."

That's imperative on all my strats. I do that and a treble bleed (if not factory fitted).

Glad to hear you got a good result with the pickup too.
Did you keep the tone on the middle pickup and just add the bridge to it? If so, did you consider making the middle wide open?

I'm not an experimenter once I have something decent, but I have wondered about trying a hotter bridge pup (than Fralin Blues Specials).

"Did you keep the tone on the middle pickup and just add the bridge to it? If so, did you consider making the middle wide open?"

I'm not sure how he did it tiller. A friend at work does that stuff for me, but the upper tone pot works the neck and bridge now and the lower tone pot works the middle.

He told me that SSL-5 is the best strat bridge pup he's ever heard. We're just couch players, but he does some recording stuff with his longtime friends.

My other strat (classic player 50s with 57/62s) is pure stock just the way it came from the factory. The upper tone pot works the neck and middle and the lower tone pot works the bridge.

I like the SSL-5. I have one in my Gilmour Strat. It sure is different with lots of mids and high output. I have it set a bit lower in the pickguard than a normal Strat Bridge PU.
