I change them pretty often so when my high E string broke on my thinline (New frets, new strings) I was pretty surprised.

The string barrel thing came unwound for some reason.. Fender 250R's probably been on the shelf for years before I bought them.

That is all I have to report but I will update as soon as I have another bit of useless info.

Carry on. Oh, the rosewood neck is slow going but I am lovin every minute of it...lovin...

"The string barrel thing came unwound for some reason.. "

That's why should only twirl your guitar in a clockwise direction.

You're lucky all six didn't unwind simultaneously.
You could have lost an eye!

I pretty much only break them putting them on.

Hell, I have a new seven string with the high E to the original high A tuning...without incident.
I've never broken a string on stage in 40 years of playing.

It's bound to happen now ;-)

I use 9's, but used to use 8's

Our other guitarist has broken a string during our last 2 gigs.

A couple of years ago I saw a pro touring band with 4 acoustic guitarists snap a string in their first 4 (maybe 5) songs. The chances of that happening must be astronomical.

I never drop a Pick! But my last gig I happened to mention that to the keyboard player, 1/2 way through the first set....
