Yeah my Fender champ 100 amp acting fuuny. The TAP button on the #2 chan side comes on when i don't want it to! It came on at rehersal the other night,and i got a little peed & I pounded it 1/2 hearted above the Tap button on top of the amp it self and it went off! This is on the FX select # 2 chan side @ reverb pos, i dont want it ON ! or Tapping!!!! How can i make it quit? I know this it probably operator head space on my part. HELP! Its only 18 months old just hope i dont have to have it put in the shop. How do you cut the TAP off!!!! I know hitting it on the top of amp is not right! but it made it stop! & got the sound back that i wanted! Whats happening here somebody?

Is that feature also controlled by an optional footswitch? If so, plug in the footswitch and see if you can control it that way.<br /> <br /> I mention this because many amps that have optional footswitches use a switching jack that re-routs the control signal from the front panel to the footswitch. These switching jacks have very small contacts that easily become fouled by dirt, dust, or bellybutton lint.<br /> <br /> Plugging in and unplugging the footswitch several times often clears up the poor contact in the switching jack and makes these sorts of ghost-in-the-machine occurrences disappear.
