Eastman E8OM purchased from LA Guitar Sales. Not available from FDP sponsors FWIW.

This actually goofs up my morning/early afternoon plans as a signature is required, but what the heck.
Thanks MJB. With luck I'll have a few hours to try the thing out today. Will report back.

Well, it arrived yesterday afternoon. Pretty much as I expected, a nice looking and well-built acoustic.

Looks wise itâs pretty much a rip-off of a Martin OM-28 or OM-28V. There are a few minor build blemishes, but overall Iâm happy. Thereâs nothing special about the Sitka Spruce top (looks wise) but Iâm OK with that. The backside on the other hand is a thing of beauty, very well book matched.

It has a semi-chunky semi-U shaped neck profile. I like it but not as much as I like Martinâs Mod V.

The action is a little high both at the nut and up the neck. I struggled at times playing it yesterday.

Sound wise itâs pretty much what I was hoping for in a scalloped braced Rosewood/Sitka OM. It has a big Martin like low end, nice ringing highs and excellent sustain. The overtones are nice, just enough without being over the top.

Iâm pretty sure itâs a keeper, but wonât know for sure until I get the action closer to where I like it. Stay tuned for a final report.
Nice guitar, Viera, congrats.

I've had 3 new Eastmans (Eastmen?), and all three came with high action. A good setup and each became a great sounding and playing guitar.

The one I have now is an E10P SB. How they can put together adirondack, nice mahogany, and ebony and sell it, with a nice case, for $1100 new is a mystery to me.

Beautiful guitar.

Eastman makes a rwally fine guitar. Their electrics are pretty good too.

I don't own one but I've played and worked on them and I've never found anything wrong or bad save for needing a setup.

Thanks guys. This is the 4th Eastman that I've had a chance to play. All have been excellent sounding acoustics including the E10P which I bought.

I sold my first E10P when we moved, as I needed to downsize instead of dragging all those guitars to Colorado.

But I got to missing it, so I traded for another. Just a great little guitar, I love that big ol' neck on it.
