Looking forward to performing with my new nylon a/e guitar tomorrow. I'd like to cover the manuracturer's label inside its soundhole with a label, or sign, displaying MY OWN name: horizontal, big, so the audience can see it inside the guitar, rather than a sideways "Cordoba". Showbiz to be sure, but why not?

Anyway: how would I affix this label so that it's removable? Rubber cement? A giant Post-It note?

Thanks for any help with this nutty idea.

Hmmm...Any adhesive you apply to the existing paper label has the potential to damage it on removal.

I think a really simple way to do this would be to back your name card with a stiff cardboard that covers the existing label, and then some.

The idea is to have enough extra room on the name card to allow use of self-stick Velcro tabs that you affix to the flat center strip that runs behind the existing label.

You can buy these at any office supply. I'm guessing two of them, 1/2" diameter, would work great.

The way to apply them is to peel the backings off the fuzzy sides and stick them where the X's are in the linked photo.

Next, peel the backings off the hooky sides and gently place them, hooks down, on the fuzzy pads.

Lastly, carefully position and press your name card in place on the adhesive backs of the hooky sides. Done.

You could probably do something similar with double-stik 3M Scotch Tape, or even double-sided foam mounting tape.

You can later peel off whatever you use, and clean the wood with naphtha if the adhesive remains.

You could try some low-tack removable double-sided tape like...

You're old. Then vintage. Then good!

I dunno, it could suck all the tone out of your guitar...
