I've seen tele players with humbuckers especially minis. What brand name beside Gibson would give a smooth jazz sound that won't cost me an arm or leg?
I went to the GFS site and they appear to have a decent collection at a good price.
Any help would be appreciated.
s:0)
ps. I have a S.D. "cool rails" in my other tele
and I like the tone but don't like not having the ability of raising and lowering the balance screws.

The only mini I ever had was a pair of Duncan Antiquity's. I had replaced the P90's in my Studio 50 LP Trib. They sounded good to my ears, particularly loved the neck pickup. It really depends on what you are after. I'm guessing the Antiquity's are very close to the original Mini hums.

The Duncan Li'l 59 is a great pickup for the Tele if you're looking for something mellower than a rails pickup.

Like the Duncan JB Jr, it has adjustable poles.

Unlike the JB Jr though, it is not as powerful/aggressive.

Check it out.

Mini humbuckers are great. That's all I have.
