I have a Marshall DSL40C in white tolex that's really nice. The 20 watt setting really makes this amp useful.

This is the most appealing Marshall made for me today. I just don't need another amp.

Thanks. It's only my 2nd electric amp and hoping there's only one more to go.

Almost went AC15C1 instead. Love my Blues Jr for the Fender cleans!

Ok, after only a couple hours, i have to say I'm impressed. Right now my fav is the green channel Gain maxed, with my always on Tumnis, Corona Chorus and CC. Into the front. Crunch button on.

But have a lot of exploring to do with this one.

Why do I keep fixing things that work?

Foggy, I have a DSL 100 (older version) and the amp you got seems to be something that I would like to try out, but hate the idea of ordering and returning it if it doesn't work out.
I've been saving money for a new combo amp and the price point seems to be on target for a smaller tubed amp versus buying one of the solid state amps I have been looking at. The speaker in yours (Creamback) is like a more rugged version of the Greenbacks and it is one of my favorite speakers. They have good bottom end and hope to hear what you think about it in an open back combo. I have a 4X12 cab with Greenbacks and it is my favorite cab, next to my large Mesa 4X12 cab with Vin 30's.
Am waiting on your review on the sound of that speaker and how it performs. How is the clean channel and can it get loud before break up? And does it have good tonality or do you feel it lacks body? While owning a Marshall, I understand the single how the shared EQ is, but am waiting on your review on how well the clean channel performs. Because I am the rythym guitarist, I need good dynamic cleans with good full sound and use the effects loop for a lot of my pedals to add to the other characteristics on many songs.
My Thanks in advance, and hope to hear more about your new amp. Woody

Cal-Woody, I'll try my best to answer some of your questions, but I'll have to really wait till i can turn it up. So far at lower volume I love the clean green channel, even with gain maxed.(Close to the 59' plexi sound they say) From there with the crunch button on, it supposedly gives you that JCM 800 sound. I think i can here some of that already.

I've only played thru a couple fenders before this one...NOS Tweed BJ and champ 40. Don't have much experience with tube amps, but love them Fenders too!

Cal-Woody... I was able to crank it up on the clean channel with crunch button off. Tried the volume at 8 and then 10 with my Classic player Strat. (57/62s) straight into the amp with no pedals. Sounded mighty clean to me. No breakup as far as i'm concerned. The Creamback sounds really nice and full, but it's not even close to being broken in yet.

Don't have a Humbucker guitar to try right now. May have to have my son bring his PRS over before i get another.

From what I've read, it can get you close to those famous Marshall tones, but it's not a Plexi or JCM 800 or 2203 ect. I don't have any experience with those or any 4x12 cabs. So really can't compare those to this thing.

I love this thing so far as a bedroom amp.

Foggy.
