My STUPID Firefox updated recently and it's been acting flaky ever since. Here's the original post...

My Tele is a Mex Standard that I've modified heavily with Lollar pickups, a vintage ashtray bridge, and new electronics. I really like it except the high E rolls off the fretboard above the 10th fret. I've been eying other Teles and this one caught my eye. The downside is that I have no spare cash and the wife would be very upset if I brought home another guitar.

:o/

Your link is flakey.

But I think I know the guitar you mean. I’ve never played one and ya e long been tempted.

These days I really dig my Michael Kelly. I’ve also got some Rumpels in an Agile Tele clone and that all comes together to make nice really Tele tones.

Have you tried slacking the strings on your current Tele a little, loosening the neck screws and shifting the neck?

Yep! I tried that. I even tried a little persistent nudging.

You're old. Then vintage. Then good!

Agree that ASAT is a nice color.

Those Tributes are a pretty good value - actually better quality pickups and hardware than an MIM Tele, but probably not the same resale value, which is crazy, of course.

I just don’t see the value in the new MIM at $599.

I’m super happy with my Michael Kelly. And I would not hesitate to buy another.

Oddly enough, I have never owned a G&L. No particular reason why that is so. I just haven’t.

"Those Tributes are a pretty good value - actually better quality pickups and hardware than an MIM Tele..."

From what I've read, the MFD's sound 'different' than a conventional Tele pup. I wonder how so.

"I just don’t see the value in the new MIM at $599."

I agree! They've gone up $200 in the last few years. I think I paid $349 for mine.
