I just picked up (pardon the pun) a set of Tonerider "Classic Blues" pickups.

I got $50 off with free postage ($99AU) and just couldn't pass up the deal.
I currently don't have a guitar that needs them, but... Christmas *is* coming...

If you didn't know, they are the OEM pickups used in the Classic Vibe 60's Strats.
Also if you didn't know... they sound great!
Incredible value even at their regular price.

ToneRiders are excellent pickups! I've been through a few, but not that particular set. And I had a a Squier CV Tele for a while which came with 'em.

What set comes in the CV '50s Strat?

I've got a MIM double fat Strat with ToneRider AlNiCo 2 HBs. This guitar exceeded my expectations.

I have a set of the Classic Blues in my parts-o-caster Strat and they are outstanding. You did good.

"What set comes in the CV '50s Strat?"

Leftee, I'm pretty sure the CV 50's Strat are the Tonerider Pure Vintage.

I do know first hand that the CV 50's Tele uses the TR Hot Classics.
The pickups are not branded, but it's well covered in forums that they are TR's.

I actually spoke on the phone with the founder/owner of Tonerider a couple years ago and whilst he did not directly confirm this "speculation" he "hinted" that it could be the case ;^)

"...Leftee, I'm pretty sure the CV 50's Strat are the Tonerider Pure Vintage..."

What I have heard is thst the Classic Vibe '50s uses the Tonerider Surfaris.

But let me add to that: I have had a chance to A/B the Classic Blues and Surfaris at the same time through the same amp, same settings, albeit on two different Strats. Two people listening, neither could tell the difference.

So my guess is that the differences between the various incarnations of Tonerider Strat pickups are subtle.

"What I have heard is thst the Classic Vibe '50s uses the Tonerider Surfaris."

Ah yes, you are correct! I got my models mixed up.

On the Squier site, the CV 50's Strat clearly specs Alnico 3 pickups. The Pure Vintage are A5.

Thanks for the correction!

TR actually offers some Strat pickups in a lefty stagger too. Itâs easy enough to fix otherwise. But it is cool that they offer those.
