I tried to think

Hi! Here's my new used guitar! I've never had an SG before and thought I would diversify my collection. I was lucky to find this pristine SG. The build quality is nigh about perfect. I can't find any defects. The action is low and buzz-free. It is very light (7.1 lbs). The neck is not of the 60s slim, but is not too fat. I would have preferred a cherry one but this one is pretty. Altogether a good find! Who likes SGs?

Sweet SG! I have an '07 that is my favorite. It has the rounded 50's neck. What year is that?

It's a 2013. Wonder if Gibson was plekking them back then?

I have two S/G's. One with 57 Classics and one with P90's. The SG with P90's is my favorite.

Why do I keep fixing things that work?

Not sure if it's just me but I think that SG is the Gibson cherry finish and the photo taken is not really showing up very well.
But not to detract from your picture, Yes, that is a sweet guitar!
My 78' is one of the walnut colored ones and is a sweet guitar also.
Enjoy your new guit-fiddle and rock out to some ACDC tunes, Immediately, or it will just stop making music of any kind! Lol

I prefer a nat finish on an SG to cherry. Not sure why. Yours looks great.

Mine is called "Natural Burst". I don't see any burst but it is nice.

I'm an SG freak. But then I'm a guitar freak and I like 'em all!

Your Gibson is the SG Standard model with a natural finish. The giveaways are

- Keystone inlays on a bound fingerboard
- MOP Gibson logo and frog the headstock
- Small multi-ply scratchplate
- Covered humbuckers
- Light brown stain with gloss finish

You can rock, blues, jazz, and swing with an SG. Super versatile guitar.

Peegoo, was there a P90 SG in that color or brown in the last few years? I'd like one with the 50's neck and similar inlays. No robot e-tuners. The only model I recall was the SG Classic but they were mostly cherry.

The 2018 SG Jr's are showing up. Sweetwater had a few Dandys last week. Weighing in a little over/under 6 lbs. P90 snarl with the old style smooth top bridge/tailpiece. Thought I'd pass that along. Cheers!

Very nice. Actually, VERY nice! There are hordes of cherry ones out there. This one is nice 'cause it's different. Really classy looking. Good score.

Gorgeous guitar! Enjoy it. If I had to live without all but one guitar, I'd keep my SG. And I've got a dozen or so very nice guitars. Many that cost alot more than my SG.

If this is your first one, you may soon wonder why you never owned one sooner. On the other hand, if it doesn't do it for you, don't worry. You'll likely get what you paid for it.

As Peegoo said, they are versatile. Surprisingly so. My SG is like my favorite pair of jeans... it's just right. Tone, balance, weight, play-ability ... Mine comes through for me with anything I play. Through any amplifier.

I believe Gibson started Plek'ing production guitars (e.g. - not custom shop) around 2006.
