I swapped pots in my Dearmond M75, the volume pot had a dea spot and I thought this would be a good reason to swap pots and caps.

I ended up using Alpha 500K pots, Audio Taper for Volume ad Linear for Tone.

I decoupled the volume circuit, added a treble bleed mod with .001uF Orange Drops and 150K-ohm 1/4-watt resistors, and the tone circuits got Orange Drop 022uF caps.

The strange thing is, now when I roll down the tone circuits, they only seem to work with about the last 1/4 throw.

I made sure the Volumes used the "A" pots and the tones used the "B" pots.

Any ideas?

That is what lefties experience when manufacturers use their regular righty pots and wire them lefty. Iâm referring to audio taper tone pots.

I always use audio taper pots for volume and tone.

Thanks Leftee, I might just put the original tone pots back and just swap the caps.
