They're sporadic, or there's no *new* models - maybe some continuing ones or there's enough NOS floating around.

They're still on their website, they're just listed under gibson.com > Products > Electric Guitars > Bass. There are a couple of EBs listed under 2017.

Looks like your "no shortage" gear condition is about to increase :0)

I've always liked the Jack Cassidy bass.

"I've always liked the Jack Cassidy bass."<br /> <br /> Which I believe is an Epiphone model. Back in the day (the Airplane), he played a Guild bass quite a bit.

My band mate uses a Gibson SG bass most of the time. I love the way it sounds - looks cool too.

Funny thing... Gibson basses never caught on the way Fender and Ibanez have.

I got it Friday.. It plays great. The bridge on the new ones have been upgraded to a Hipshot copy. A much needed up grade.

Glad to hear.<br /> <br /> Despite the moaning and groaning I see everywhere, I have been amazed at my three Gibsons of recent production (so much so that I was willing to actually buy them, when it's a stretch on a fixed income!).

Gibson is the guitar company people love to hate. <br /> <br /> Honestly, they take care of us lefties way better than Fender.

I've seen some genuinely sad Gibson stories posted all over the internet. And I'm sure they're true, or mostly true. My own experiences have been just the opposite - 2 Les Pauls and an SG purchased in the last 4 years, and I'm happy with them all. If you're paying $800 for a guitar that says "Les Paul" on it, don't expect it to be the same as one that costs $4000. Ain't gonna happen.

Yea, I'm immensely happy with mine, but they've all been in the "originally $1700-2k" range (one I bought on clearance, one I paid full mother of retail because I wanted it that bad, and the third I got at $300 off as the closeouts are near but I didn't want to miss out).<br /> <br /> I can see where the money went.<br /> <br /> They're fine, fine, fine guitar.
