Sorry, but Bon Jovi?????????????? Ugh....

And Eurythmics were terrific but HOF?
Not sure I get that.

Other than that they seem like good choices.

Of course, I will never even be nominated for anything or see any of their success, so my opinion is less than meaningless...

Maybe I'm just old but I really like the way The Zobies put their tunes together. We cover "She's not There" it's a fun tune.

Link Wray, man that dude was Rock and Roll.

"Rage Against the Machine"

I can't imagine we have a ton of RATM fans here, but they were a great albeit short lived band that I really did enjoy. My high school band covered a bunch of their songs during practices only, because we never had anyone who could credibly sing/rap the lyrics.

But from a musicianship standpoint, the songs are actually kind of complex and a lot of fun.

I will add, the three guys minus the singer just put out an album with Chuck D from Public Enemy and B Real from Cypress Hill, it has a lot more of that RATM fee than Audioslave did, for obvious reasons.

Link Wray should be in and should have been in a long time ago. Zombies and Dire Straits for sure as well.

"Or, if there were no Beatles the Zombies would have been pipefitters.'

Maybe, if they weren't playing to the European audience. I was in Germany from late 64 through 67, I was influenced by the stuff my dad played and what my contemporaries listened to. It wasn't a whole lot of Beatles. A lot of Motown, The Who, Hendrix, Cream, the Stones, The Animals, Spencer Davis, the Zombies were big,

I still lean towards raw less processed music. Give me Johnny Winter over Three Dog Night, Beach Boys or the Beatles any time. I just ain't sophisticated "o)

The Zombies, Moody Blues and especially Link Wray and MC5...these guys should have been inducted a LONG LONG time ago.

Nina Simone? For what? I really like her, but I also love Charlie Parker and he's about as Rock and Roll as she is.

LL Cool J...is that attempt to make a joke?

It's the hall of lame. I pay no attention to it. It does not matter to me who's in it or not.

Who really cares WHAT the establishment thinks? Rock and roll, at it's heart, is *anti-establishment*.

I vote with my ears and my wallet, and everything I listen to is a member of MY rock and roll hall of fame. That is all that matters.

"Or, if there were no Beatles the Zombies would have been pipefitters."

It's a possibility. The Beatles just kind of sucked all the air out of the room. In their absence another musically inventive band like The Zombies might have filled the void.

Maybe.
