Are your prayer beads maple or rosewood?

I thought Iron Maiden had some cool monitors that had a flat part on the other side of the speaker so Bruce or whoever could jump up, but cannot find any pictures....
As a visual aid, here is a Peavey 1545...where the "Peavey" logo is now there was a box suitable for standing...it wasn't two pieces, it was all one unit.

Or did I imagine it? (likely!)
I also realize the footprint on this will be huge!

I would guess all large shows are geared up by a pro sound company (remember Tychobrahe?) that builds their own cabinets.

Making a wedge like you describe is dead simple: a 5/8" plywood box, glued and screwed, covered in Ozite, and loaded with a 12" or 15" speaker and matching horn with a passive crossover, looking something like

Not being a fan of Iron Maiden and thus not able to visualize "jumping up on the monitor" versus the guys who put one foot on the top of the monitor wedge and simple "strike a pose"...

So, if you really want to stand on top of the monitor like "king on the mountain" why not just build a black box to simply set over your monitor with a couple of sturdy braces or more across the top and a heavy gauge steel mesh on top of the braces...then it would simply be a monitor AND a stage riser.

Being the gear head that I am, I'm always trying to catch glimpses of the gear the big boys are using. I can't remember the brand of monitor I saw on one occasion, but I googled them and found out the monitors I searched were thousands of dollars each. I thought at the time "no wonder I've never heard of them".

I like Tony's idea. Build a box over one.

So we talking about an elevated position at the foot of the stage.... standing on a box....on purpose?

Have you cleared this idea with the wife?

I just had a flashback to 1979, gig at a topless bar, front man jumped up on table out front. Management sent him a note

"We don't dance on your equipment, don't dance on our tables or we'll break your legs."

The last pair of pro monitors that I saw like you mentioned were built by Community. They made a lot of sound systems that were at almost every show I went to.
