The professor is my guitar player, he’s been trying to talk me into being a guest lecturer in his class for over a year now. I don’t get it, I have almost nothing in common with this generation, the subject matter of his class, or any conceivable reason to be there. He disagrees.

Well, he screwed up his arm cleaning up after the storm Irma and had surgery, Doc says he can’t drive for a few weeks. Asks me if I can drive him tomorrow, of course I agree, then he says you can finally guest lecture. He tells me to bring some stuff I’ve made. What’s the point. He says it’s about the power of creativity, how their are those that have to constantly be creating, as if creativity itself drives the motivation, I’m think B.S. He disagrees with me, OK. I have no fear so I told him I’ll explain my stuff, my motivations, my theory of why I am the way I am but it’ll be up to him to connect it to his curriculum. He still wants me to do it. Oh Man.

I know he’s told these kids about me, I’m going to put skulls in my beard.

Well at least there’s a free lunch in it.

"Well at least there’s a free lunch in it."

Doesn't seem like the worst way to earn a free meal. Try to have fun with it!

"I’m think B.S. He disagrees with me..."

Well, we've seen your skills and heard your articulation here on the FDP. Some of us have had the pleasure of meeting you in person. There's an enigmatic quality to you man, own it. ;-)

I think it's something Philosophy, his other class is Classical Logic. I did well in both of those subjects at the University, logic was actually cool, I use it trouble shooting all the time. Not sure what I think about Philosophy.

I'm not quite as dumb as I come across sometimes. When I was in High School I told dad I wanted to go to the trade schools, where kids my age were actually learning how to make and design stuff. He told me I was too smart for that, those poor kids could only work in the trades but I was smart enough to get into business, law or medicine. What I heard was, these guys get to make, design and repair stuff and I will only be screwing around with other people lives. Engineering now would have motivated me, for some reason it was never pointed out to me and it never occured to me.

In the end I got my way but not until I spent 3 years at the University of Pittsburgh and the party school the University of Florida, I might have graduated if I'd stayed at Pitt. It was a challenge and the professors were interesting and pushed us to do/think more.

Eventually I was arduously tested and got the I.Q. number, surprised me but nobody else. I’m not sure I buy into all of that either. I did wind up with a good job, actually at the place I was tested. That whole thing was pretty strange, I’ve mentioned it here before. It all came about from a construction accident and Workman's com requirement to find me another job.

I forgot how young they are, everything went well, had a bunch of them hang around to talk about some of my stuff. I had to stick around for Prof Guitar's next class, logic. It wasn't the class I had at the University.

Lunch was good.

Not so much that I just didn't want to do it. Apparently he thought I had something to say. His opinion was I had somthing to add, it's kind of a complement and doing it, was me recognizing it as such. Since he needed the ride, it was no big deal to just do it.
