Is this really a true tube amp? Anyone have any experience with one?

In the Sweetwater description it refers to it as hybrid, so it would be a tube preamp with a solid state power amp akin to the Vox VT series amps (Valvetronix).

I have no personal experience with Bugera amps at all.
I was afraid of that. I had a bigger valvtronix vox when they first came out. My mustang 3 just blew it away.

The ValveTronix technology was a little different application of a 12AX7 in a SS amp. Vox used that tube in the output section of the amp.

The Bugera is more like the Marshall ValveState series where the 12AX7 is used as a preamp tube.
I've had both. :-)

FWIW - I liked the ValveState better than the Valvetronix.

I'm still digging my Valvetronix AD30VT, although it's set at all times to the AC30 mode. If it ever dies, I'll replace it with a Katana.
