California's Senate Bill 710 seeks to legalize firearm suppressor ownership (like in 42 other states). The law would be changed so that possession of a suppressor would no longer be a felony, and hunters would be allowed to use them in the field. That's it.<br /> <br /> Since this baby step legislation only apples to using the devices for hunting, the sidebar uproar about legalizing criminal silencers seems a bit hyperbolic.<br /> <br /> I wonder which side Hollywood comes down on?<br /> If the actual limitations of "silencers" become common knowledge, will this put a dent in the screenwriters' use of mythical silencers that make guns go "pooooof"?

I wonder if this means that someone there has an indication that the HPA or a similar bill will be passing at the Fed level?
