It's weird how stuff from the past sometimes randomly pops into your head. I hadn't thought of these in decades, but this morning I did, for no apparent reason. They were common, cheesy little game prizes for kids at school carnivals and old-style amusement parks back in the 1950s. Anyone else remember them?

I think I got one from a Cracker Jack box.<br /> <br /> <br /> -----------------------------------------<br /> <br /> Funny version: "Uh, no, I don't remember them."<br /> <br /> <br />

I *do* remember those. <br /> <br /> Thank you for waking up that long-dormant neuron.

Searching "Bagatelle game" on ebay yields a trove of dusty memories:

I recalled something more like this that we had when I was a kid. The one we had when I was young had been made for my father by my grandfather.<br /> <br />

I think your example is closer to the original meaning of "bagatelle", neilp.<br /> <br /> We used to really love those little, cheesy, plastic pinball machines, archiestone. <br /> <br /> I imagine kids these days would either love or scorn this stuff: they'd either want nothing to do with it or it would become a giant, "retro" fad.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> "My dad played with these back in the day...they are SO old school!"
