I've been loyal to Netscape then to Firefox forever and a day. Over time FF has been loading slower and slower and i thought it was my crappy laptop or internet connection. Now that youtube has changed ouround its pages they take forever to load. Its so bad that a video will start playing a full minute before the rest of the age loads.<br /> <br /> Last Thursday I was watching a video through a link on the FDP and decided to try another browser. So I did. And i then tested many other pages. No comparison.<br /> <br /> Goodbye Firefox, hello Opera.

hmmm Firefox works good for me.... I also use Edge..<br /> <br /> it's weird some web pages just load quicker on some browser's than others...<br /> <br /> as far as typing goes...I'm not sure if I just can't type or I just can't spell...;-0

My issues with FF are how so many sites are not designed for it and look terrible. No issues with video.

So far, I have no problem with FF. The wife prefers Edge, though.

Chris nails it. I cant count how many times Ive had to copy the url, open a different browser just to see if the page was loading right in FF. Most of the time it wasnt. And it isnt like I have a bazillion addons to slow it down.

See my dissatisfaction with FF in a thread I started a few weeks ago. Since then it improved quite a bit because some of the extensions have been updated, but still not great.<br /> <br /> I'm still worried about this massive transformation that's due in November.

What's so bad about MS Explorer? I've never used anything else.

Explorer loads everything that is attached to page. FF and Opera have ad blockers so they load faster. Well, excepting FF.

I dumped FF for Opera about two years ago. FF brought my then elderly computer to a crawl. Now I'm on a much zippier machien but I'm still very happy with Opera and I really like the "speed dial" feature. Occasionally I'll hit a website that doesn't work well with Opera but they're few and far between.

Explorer has historically had more serious exploits associated with it, but these days providing you're religious with updates, it's as safe as anything.<br /> <br /> That said, nobody has the money to develop for the stack of browsers out there, and well, it's become a "if it works, it works" world except for those with DEEP pockets.

I've never used anything other than Safari. Maybe I'm missing out.

I recently clicked something and for a moment got:<br /> "Firefox is currently offline. Try again to access firefox online."<br /> <br /> Eh? That's a new one.

I don't have too many issues with FF. I abandoned IE a long time ago because I could not figure out why it'd go all BSOD on me virtually every session.

Since the update FF seems slow on some pages, particularly ebay, and on various pages it hangs and I get a momentary "Firefox is not responding" banner up across the menu bar. Have to say goodbye to it if it continues this way.

It did continue and I did swap to Opera. Big difference. Shame, Firefox has been there a long time.
