My oldest, Andrea got engaged over Memorial Day weekend. Today she's having an engagement party and in one year, she's getting married. It happens that the day she picked is my parents anniversary. She's been with this guy for over 10 years and he's already a part of the family. I helped him get into the Police Academy and I convinced my sheriff to give him a shot. Good kid, hard-working, very devoted to my daughter. Great thing also is that his dad and I have become very close friends over the years. Going to be a fun year planning and executing the wedding.

Good for you! And her! And him! And everyone one else involved!

A real parenting milestone when your offspring survive intact into adulthood and choose well in the life partner lottery. As a dad of two daughters, both of whom are in stable, long-lasting relationships, I can relate to the relief of a father when his daughter selects "a good'n".

Very cool!
