The top selling coffee at the local roaster is "Lauren's Blend", named after one of the owner's kids. They were sold out when Mrs. E stopped by to get some, so she picked up some excellent beans from Kenya.

She asked about Lauren's Blend, and was told it's a mix of their darkest and lightest roasts. Next time, I'll dump some one a plate and get a ratio.

Have you guys tried a mix like that? This coffee is sensational. :)

Kona is my fav, hands down, but lately I've been using "Kirkland House Blend" from Costco, just because it's decent and WAY cheaper.

A friend recently sent me a lb of Piñon coffee beans from New Mexico. (Arabica beans + pinon nuts.) It has a natural hutmeg/hazelnut flavor + aroma and is intoxicatingly delicious.
Recently found out you can get it at Walmart (of all places.)
IIRC I found the piñon nut coffee at Trader Joe's last week. Sounded interesting but I didn't buy any as I prefer to grind my beans fresh daily.

About as ordinary as you can get.

We bought something from Costco called "San Francisco Bay" French roast that is very good and smells wonderful. Our standby is also from Costco and is Kirkland "Pacific Bold" dark roast, extra bold. I like strong, black coffee.

French Roast is the dark component in Lauren's Blend. :)

San Francisco Bay French roast has been our staple for going on 20 years.

My brother lives in Hawaii so I've had a lot of Kona but for everyday I like Eight O'Clock Columbian Peaks Whole Bean.
I just bought a 22oz bag for under $10.

Just back from Kauai and my favorite is now Kauai Coffee Company. If you get to Kauai their plantation and tasting porch are worth a visit.
