Just picked up an Electromatic G5435 Pro Jet (the one without a bigsby), First off, really nice guitar for the price. I got it used from a local store for $100 of the regular price. I think someone returned it because it was badly set up.. the neck had no relief, the action was way too high and a couple of the saddles needed to be turned around to get the right intonation. Once that was done it played great. <br /> <br /> Anyway, I was thinking of putting a B7 bigsby on it but once I started playing it I found it really versatile for stuff beyond the typical rockabilly stuff. And this leads to my question.. right now the tuning is very stable and it has a lot of sustain.. great for that non-rockabilly stuff. How much will that change with the bigsby added? <br /> <br /> I guess I could try it and see but that means drilling holes unless I get a vibramate.. and then the question becomes how much does the vibramate affect tone, tuning etc?<br /> <br /> Actually, another question.. not sure if the B7 Vibramate will fit since the measurements are not exactly the same as a LP. Anyone know or tried it?

If it helps anyone else out there the V7 vibramate won't fit. See attached diagram. It needs 6 inches from strap button to the tailpiece and the Jet is just shy of 7 (I measured mine). <br /> <br /> So the only option is the B7 alone or a B5 with Vibramate. I know the pro jet comes with a B5 but I like the B7 better.
