Just turned on the game, bored and the stadium is empty.

I used to love pro football. I'll probably switch it off and clean the toilets.

Sportswriters and other media try frantically to dance around reasons why this is happening, and I admit there are other minor impacts, but no one wants to admit that there is ONE obvious reason why this is happening. I love to check the comments on these type of "10 reasons..." stories, because they ALL reveal the ONE reason.

This is unprecedented that the target demo (which includes me) is turning away from NFL football in droves. I watch a bit but I've had it too...
I don't watch the NFL anymore, its a shadow of the game it used to be...I'm all in on the NHL these days and couldn't be happier, despite being a Sabres fan, lol.

I was done last year and continue my boycott. I'm not having any part of the take a knee, flash black power sign when tackling white mentality that is tolerated by the league. Sorry but this, the NFL, is not the place for this. When interviewed most of these players can't even get the facts straight of who got shot, where and why.

I feel sorry for the players who support our country and our flag who are affected. Not sorry enough to tune in however.

From a game standpoint, the NFL's big problem is that college and NFL offenses have diverged to the point where the player are pretty much incompatible. The vast majority of QBs coming out of college aren't very good pocket passers, and lineman who come from a spread-option background have no idea how to block in the NFL. It makes for some pretty inept offenses (and some aging superstar QBs who can actually run an NFL offense). The NFL has tried to artificially prop up offensive production with rule changes that they selectively enforce, but it's not very effective and the changes cheapen the game.

And also, I feel kinda guilty watching football any more because you know the lads out on the field are getting their brains slowly scrambled, regardless of helmet advancements and targeting rules. I think that's in the back of everyone's mind. I think the concussion problem, which I don't think can be solved, will probably eventually do the NFL in.

And then when you add in all the other nonsense going on in the NFL today, I really don't have much desire to watch.

Golf is the cerebral game. A solitary golfer against him or herself and the course. If there's nonsense going on (save for Tiger Woods), I'm unaware of it.

I've come to really enjoy watching our Atlanta United soccer team games...other than the emotional "flops for fouls" thing in the attempt to prompt a yellow or red card, I find it enjoyable.

w

I've found it damn near impossible to care about the NFL or any team in the NFL. Been that way for 25 years for me.

For various reasons college football, which I used to love, has nearly reached that point for me.

Me too. As an Ohio State fan, I'm a little sick of packaged plays and stat-padding bubble screens. That, and every game seems to last 4+ hours any more

At least college football still has some unpredictability going for it.

My home team is (was) the Packers.

Tonight I thought I'd watch the pre game and see what if anything happened during the anthem.

I did see all members of each team standing and a majority holding their hand over their hearts.

I thought OK I'll give it a chance. Switched off at the end of the first quarter. No interest.

Normally I'd be a happy camper due to the Pack killing the Bears.

I do believe the kneeling has been the last straw for me.

Sad I love the game of football. I was a die hard Packer fan, no more.
