Hi Rhino!

I don´t think you need any "special" tubes - just pick a set that will WORK ;-)

Not sure about the current offerings by Fender/Groovetubes, but they used to offer power-tube-sets selected to suit your specific amp and taste.
They used to offer sets that were labelled "cool" and "hot" etc. so you would´t need to re-bias your amp when changing tubes.

Anyhow, if you happen to have an amp-tech nearby, I would recommend to buy a set of EL84´s from him and have your amp biased properly/to taste.

cheers - C.

I would stick with a pair EL84s as designed and get an extra set so you replace them as a matched set.

I just bought a Tweed Blues Junior new and it came stock with re-labled JJ's and called them "premium" They are fine & durable but I replaced V1 with a Tung Sol Reissue to sweeten it up a bit. I would check to see if they are stock Groove Tubes & use this chart to see what is in there already. JJ's Sovteks should be fine w/o spending the dough for replacements.
