No, not that kind of shred, but since I put 9's vs 10's on my guitars, my callouses are being sliced off, it seems. The upper layer of skin has been taken off, and the new skin underneath is tender. My index finger and pinky are the worst, but even the ring finger shows a raw patch. <br /> <br /> Could this just be because of the skinnier strings? Never remember this happening with the 10's.

I've never heard of that happening due to a change to lighter strings. Heavier--yes.<br /> <br /> Strange.<br /> <br /> Superglue time!

Depends on the strings.<br /> <br /> Some 9s will chop through my callouses that are used to Bass VI gauges being abused.<br /> <br /> So will 10s if I'm careless or they're just ready to shed a bit.
