Strap makers...is there an easy way to get sheepskin on a strap?

I have a new leather strap that has round studs that I picked up on Ebay.
2 small problems:
The backside if the strap is 'raw' so the rivets catch at my shirt.
It's a wide strap so it also digs in a bit at my shoulder bone.
I was thinking of a sheepskin pad but not sure where to get one or how to attach aside from gobs of gorilla glue! (Even fake sheepskin would be OK if it solves these two problems!)

And contacting the seller is no good, he (or she) un-registered while my strap was en route from Australia!!

Either do it yourself w/ some contact cement or some other type of adhesive. Silicone sealant applied in a relatively thin coat will work beautifully and remain flexible.

Or, go to a tailor, auto upholstery shop or something similar & have them sew it on for you.

I line a lot of mine with pig skin. It's thin and works well.

You could use sheepskin.

Attach with contact cement and stitch the edge if you like.

Edited to add: You say "rivets" are they just two metal ears or tabs that stick through the leather and you then bend them in?

If so, press those ears on down further so they don't attack your shirt.

"Edited to add: You say "rivets" are they just two metal ears or tabs that stick through the leather and you then bend them in?"

They have a round back that is the same size as the studs, like it may have been a 2 piece process. They're very secure and not going anywhere, which is nice.

So where can I get some sheepskin? I'm not familiar with the usual d-i-y leather or whatever websites.
