Does anyone in this Forum use a Kemper Profiler...if so, how is it?

Thanks,

MacGuy
I've never used one. But the guitarists at church use them so I hear them every Sunday. Outstanding tones for sure!

A guy who comes to the local buskers night has one. He's a multi international award winning blues/ rock guitarist. I've played through his Kemper a couple of times and it sounds great, but not as impressive as an Axe Fx in my opinion.

It's really good. I've had one for about a year. The concensus on the Kemper User Forum seems to be that the Axe FX has better effects but the Kemper is better at capturing the actual amp sound.

I haven't used the Kemper to "profile" any of my amps yet - I use Kemper profiles made by others (available free & commercially) and many of them are very good re-creations of the actual sound & feel of the amp - so good that it's hard to tell whether you're playing the Kemper or the actual amp when you A/B both through the same studio monitors at the end of a profiling session.

I'd love to get one, but I don't "need" a Kemper enough to justify the expense.

I don't "need" one either, but curiosity and GAS got the better of me. :))

I've got one and love it. I haven't used a live amp on stage or in studio for a couple years now since I've had the Kemper - no reason to. I've also profiled my own amps and when blind tested, I could not tell the difference. The Kemper does everything I need it to do, and some. I use it as part of my Bradshaw switching system and switch profiles via MIDI. It is, IMO, the best of the digital amp world.

What sets it apart is that it does not use models of other amps, it takes a profile snapshot of an actual amp. When creating a profile, it sends tones and pulses through an amp and then reads how the amp responds to the differs signals, and then creates a profile based on that information. I've created profiles with certain pedals in front of the source amp so that the profile will have that pearl in it. Very cool!

Our bandleader has one. A lifelong "pro", he is dead serious about his tone. I have watched him change amps over and over... Dr. Z, Fuchs, Bandmaster, etc. This Kemper is the only amp he has kept.

I have a Helix. It's good enough for me.
