My band is preparing for our second gig, and this is a big deal for us. It is a paying gig, with the opportunity to be added to the permanent rotation if the club likes us. We need a few more songs to complete four sets, and they need to be songs people can dance to (as well as being easy to learn.)
I would appreciate your input. We recently added "Jenny, Jenny 867-5309" and "ROCK In The USA."

The Breakup Song (Greg Kihn)

Walk Like an Egyptian (The Bangles)

I Love Rock and Roll (Joan Jett)

One Way or Another (Blondie)

Anything by Bob Marley

Anything by Jimmy Buffet

^^^
These tunes always filled the dance floor and kept people drinkin'. And you can be a dude and sing the chick tunes if you *sell* the tune.

As usual, Peegoo has some great suggestions there!

But, if you're going to do "One Way or Another", it helps to have a really cute blonde singer! ;)

Honkey tonk women and Abracadabra always fills the dance floor. Also, anything by Chuck Berry or just plain old Rock n Roll tunes gets people off their chairs and dancing.

Thanks, tahitijack!

I just convinced my band mates to do Mustang Sally. It was a hard sell, but I reminded them the key to getting asked to play again hinges on bringing people in and then getting them to dance.
