Well I did the celebratory string change and fret polish thing with my new Baja Tele and after putting the D'ADarrio 10-42 EXL110 set on (these are what I have used on all my strats for no particular reason) I just don't like the sound as much as the set that was on it. I do not know what brand they were except that they felt like 10-42 as far as I could tell. And they did not need to be replaced because I am just a moron.

Any suggestions for strings for a guy that plays rock, blues and just loves telecasters??

Sorry for putting this in the wrong place. Before I forget ;) anyone like use the webstrings site? I need punchy clarity with my gas..

I'm a fan of pure nickel strings. That only pertains to the wound strings, of course. Something like GHS Burnished Nickel Rockers work great for me.

I don't like the brightness of the wound strings of typical modern sets.

Going off of your other post in the Tele forum, if it was brand new and completely stock, there's a *chance* it came with Fender strings on it. (presuming the shop didn't do a string change)

The specs on the Fender website are Fender® USA Super 250R, NPS, (010-.046 Gauges) for the Baja.

May be worth contacting the seller and asking them what strings were on it when it shipped.

Leftee, up until now a string is a string as far as my knowledge goes. I will indeed get some knowledge.

Mick, yeah guitar is pretty mint and may have had the stock ones on it, I will email the seller as well. Thank you for the help!

What color were the ball ends on the old strings?

The gold (brass) ends may have been Ernie Balls. I typically use the hybrid 9s (light top, heavy bottom) on Teles and Strats.

Yeah, Ernie Balls or Dean Markleys, probably.
