...and it looks pretty interesting. I saw him live at the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta probably 10 years ago, and he definitely has the chops.

He has had a Gibson signature model for years, but now Epiphone has stepped up their game again, with Johnny A joining Slash and Joe Bonamassa.

Reminds me a bit of the older Trini Lopez model with the pointy horns.

Yeah, the body shape does share the pointy horns...but it doesn't share that ugly reverse headstock.

The Gibson model has a 25-1/2" scale...I wonder if the Epi will, too, or if they'll stay more uniform with the shorter traditional length? Truth be told, I kinda like the looks of the Epiphone over the Gibson.

The Epi headstock actually looks great on that guitar.

Oh... how I wish they'd make a lefty version of this one! But h3!! will freeze over first...

...which is why I "Johnny A'd" my lefty Ibanez AM 93 - it gets pretty close (with Gibby 57 Classics and a better, USA Bigsby), but without the gold hardware - mine will eventually be all chrome.

Anyone have any idea on price?

Nice. A bit like a thinner version of a Barney Kessel.

My only crib is the painted sound holes would have looked better with a bit of binding.

I just saw JA last week in St. Paul. He's actually playing a Les Paul Jr. these days.

I'd be interested except for the Bigsby, the gold hardware, and the pointy horns (the reason that I've never owned an SG).

I do love me some Gibson '57 Classic Humbuckers.

Nice to see.

I've lusted after a Johnny A Gibson, but the price point has kept it firmly in the fantasy realm.

I'm VERY interested in checking out the Epi version.

Is it smaller body type, like a 339??? Hope not, because I would enjoy a more 335 type body size.
Need to hold one and see how the balance is, otherwise, yeah- I'd like/want this...

The Epiphone discussion said about $899 retail.
Not bad for all the features and my favorite Gibson humbucking pickups, besides Lollars and Harmonic Design and...
