I have a 1959 Gibson GA20T two tone tube amp---has non original speaker----
current speaker is a 12" Wilder Speaker made in USA--
What would give me a nice warm overdrive but not super early?

The original speaker was probably a Jensen P12R.

A Weber Alnico Vintage-series like the 12A125 will probably work great in that amp.

A Celestion Greenback G12M would sound good.

If you order a Weber, have them build it with a felt dust cover. It won't be as beamy and will be less harsh on the top end. It will still have plenty of highs, just be easier on the ears.

if you go with a Weber,Peegoo and Hammond described the exact speaker I put in my 58 GA-20...

nicely done gentlemen!

I would still keep my eye out on a vintage late 50's P12Q if you can find one....:-)

Is this GA20T somewhat similar to a Fender Tweed Deluxe?
