Hey guys,

Paul emailed me and said the project would be done in a week! Here is a picture of the body. Notice the reverse bridge PU route and the sweet deep purple body. The only way to get that type of PU route is to go master built so I did it and ill give a review at some point.

It will feature an upside down 68 maple cap neck. This guitar is going to be like Jimi's 68 Woodstock strat except it will feature a right hand body (since I don't like turning guitars upside down) and reverse custom wound pickups (68 period correct). And...it will be purple!!!

Notice the initials "PW" in the neck PU cavity...cool!

I should have my hands on it soon...should be good!

That IS a great color.

The reversed bridge pickup does make a difference. I've done a few Strats and Teles with the backwards pickup and it really rounds out the high strings' tone. Makes for a really twangy low E too.

Hey Peegoo, may. I ask you where you bought that reversed Tele bridge? I have an old MIM Tele and was wanting to try this out on and would route the pickup cavity to accept either a reversed Tele pickup install or a humbucker. This way I could just swap out bridge plates for either one. You always see the regular or humbucker types, but reverse one's, not so much! Is this a left handed bridge or are they actually made that way?
Sorry for the hijack but your build was just too inspired not to ask.
Thanks so much, Woody

^+1

Just Google "left handed Telecaster bridge". Lots of sources, both of vintage and modern type. The Wilkinson one with ramp-compensated saddles is particularly nice.

Yep. Most places that sell guitar hardware sell these 'reverse' Tele bridges.

Thanks for the quick response, got it ordered! Well, I ordered 2, because I have a Tele that uses the modern type with 6 saddles and the other is the vintage type but with brass compensated saddles. Can't wait to try it out.
Thanks again, Woody

it plays amazing. and the tone is a step up from all my other strats. It has more pop and liveliness...not sure how to describe it.

Also, it definitely improves my look! I'm a 7/10 normally...just putting on this guitar raises me to a 10!

Loookout ladies!!!
