My clean channel sounds great, but my OD suddenly has almost zero volume. Any suggestions on what i should check?

So even if the drive and master controls are turned up full, only a bit of signal is getting through?
If so it may be that the switching mute circuit has failed somehow. Lifting one leg of CR1 may help if that's the case.

True...the issue is most likely caused by Q1, the JFET J111, they are quite commonly a cause of this type of failure.

willie

Another cause sometimes is just plain dirty pots.

At least it was on my Blues Deluxe back in the day.

The pots are dirty, but I don't think that's the issue. Yes, when drive and master volume are turned all the way up, hardly any sound is coming out. Clean channel works fine.

I'll probably take it to be repaired. Changing tubes is one thing. Opening it up is a whole nother matter. Thanks for the suggestions!

My Blues Deluxe just started cutting out sporadically and the red light for the OD channel blinks although I am playing on the clean. Same thing?

Coral, that doesn't sound like what mines doing. I think the light is on, although I'm using the foot switch so I can't be sure. Channel isn't cutting in and out. Just barely audible sounds coming out. I don't use this amp much, so it's been idle until I plugged it in and found this problem.

I will post whenever I get this fixed.

Coral, Sounds like the switch for the drive channel or the relay that it controls on your BD. There are test points shown in the schematic for troubleshooting this.
