Hey there- old fuzz pedal has broken down and it gave me an excuse to try a new type. I am looking on an Acid Fuzz Sonic Boom and have almost been sold on it (fuzz, boost and cool tremolo in one handmade pedal) but am open to other ideas and comments on this particular model.

I don't play like spaceman 3 (even though I was a fan as a kid) but the demos of this pedal look and sound really really good.

Input?

Need a *lot* more info.

What end result are you looking for?

What specific Jag? Other things in signal chain? Amp? Amp running clean or dirty, or?

Be aware that with impedance sensitive fuzzes the strangle switch may impact its sound significantly as well (for good or ill) and same for the rhythm circuit.

since first posting went with the sonic boom. doing a little more research on one of my favorite groups, the velvet underground, it says this is the same type of fuzz that they were describing around the white light/white heat era. that pushed me into the buy zone on this.

it's the best I have heard since my infatuation with fuzz. variation, true bypass, beyond the fuzz and feedback it's capable of it is not noisy at all. the repeater is a total bonus as well as the circuit arrangement (for boost or fuzz first). pricey but i don't buy stuff that often (only other effect is a tube tape echo that is rarely used and that was 10 years ago, before that it played essentially guitar straight into amp)

62 avri thin skin -> sonic boom-> 2008 vibro-king (often with the extension cabinet). the repeater is the trem i had hoped for for such a high end amp like the vibe-king but now it there there. if i want things to be nuttier i can use the sonic boom's fx loop and put my fulltone tube tape echo in there... but that would seem nutty since i feel like the car is already driving itself with just the sonic boom in the mix.

Should suit you well if that's what you're gunning for.

I'm partial to stuff that starts at broken shortwave and goes out there from there myself.
