I'm on guard these days.

One of the guys in my band has one but he doesn't have a pup on it and doesn't play it at gigs.
Well, here's the story. A Larivee L-05 showed up at an estate sale locally and I called my band buddy and told him about it. I went to the sale and several other guys were lurking around the guitar. Looked almost brand new. When I got my hands on it I strummed it a time or two and bought it for $595 with Larivee hardshell case. I should have looked more closely. It had a very slight crack from the back of the bridge down to the tail of the guitar. I just didn't see it in my haste to get the guitar. Also, I didn't see it until several days after I bought the guitar because I just set the guitar by our piano and never thought about it. My buddy had already sent me a check for the guitar and was not that upset when I told him about the crack. He said he planned on reselling the guitar anyway. Boy, what a nice guitar and excellent craftsmanship. Always measure twice and cut once.

I have three Larrivee acoustics right now, have owned others, and have a custom L-05 on the way (it will have a mahogany top to go with the b&s, plus some other custom details).

Have also owned three of their recent electrics, but currently only have one of those, an RS-4 (their version of a Les Paul, also kinda similar to a PRS Singlecut).

So I'm a big fan of Larrivees. Their 50th anniversary is in 2017, so I'm hoping to have the scratch for one of the Anniversary models as well, depending on what it is (and how much!).

There are some pics in my profile. My first Larrivee, which I still have and will be the last guitar to go when I'm old, is a '92 OM-05 I ordered new - now almost 24 years old.

I love my Larrivee OM-3, my first guitar and still my favorite acoustic. My wife bought it for me new around 1997.

I've got one also and I blame Rev Mikey ;)

Its a 00-50 and despite its diminutive size it's a beast. Great guitar with lots of punch and well made photos in profile

I wouldn't mind having either a 000 or an LS body (small L body), but that will have to wait a while, too. Too many acoustic guitars in my harem right now - I feel guilty because they don't all get played enough!

My main acoustic is a 2001 D-05 w/ K&K Pure Western Mini. Acoustically, it projects very well and when I plug into the PA (or into a QSC K10 that I use as an amp) it's very even in tone. I'm mostly just a rhythm strummer, and this guitar is perfect for what I do.
