I was visiting my daughter this week in Austin and I naturally hit a few of the well known music stores. During my visit to Guitar Ressurection I tried out a new 5420T and was very impressed with the fit , finish and playability of this Korean made guitar. The Black Top pick ups also sounded pretty nice and had a Gretsch vibe. Most impressive was that it stayed in tune when using the Bixby. Overall, this is a nice guitar if you want to get into a Gretsch for well under $1000. I also found out that Gretsch is changing the headstock of the new Electromatics which is why these " old stock" guitars can now be bought new for around $600-$650.

I've played high end Gretsch's (such as the Reverend Horton Heat and Chet Atkins) that wouldn't stay in tune when using the Bigsby.

Some of the G5420T's I've played were excellent and stayed in tune really well.
