I picked up a Squier Tele at a pawn shop for $63. Just a standard looking Tele. Someone put some really good replacement tuners on it. Got it home and cleaned it up and man, this Tele is a real good guitar. Neck is perfect and the pups sound as good as my '68 Tele. They have that good Tele sound. They don't sound like anything else and that's what I want. Red body with rosewood fretboard. No set up needed as it was ready to go. It must be an older Squier because the body has some "with the grain" crack in the finish, which I like. The pots are full size so someone may have changed that out too. I win for that price.

Yes, that's a violation.

This is not a ticket; it gives you 24 hours to post a pic.

If you fail to comply you will receive a citation, a $52 fine, and two points will be assessed on your artistic license.

"Just a cheap Squier."

Yeah, but a player's a player.
I love the 4 Squiers I own. They punch *way* above their weight, and honestly, I haven't done very much to most of them beyond set up and pickup swaps.

Also, it's a good thing someone didn't open that door just as you were taking that photo!
The pic may have turned out *very* different!

Mine are stupid good guitars regardless of price.

The higher priced stuff may *look* nicer....but...

That's a small part of the equation at best!

"Also, it's a good thing someone didn't open that door just as you were taking that photo!"

I made sure it was safe.

Wait just a minute. Are y'all suggesting that a guitar that doesn't have the right name on it and a hefty price can actually be a good guitar with few or no upgrades?

Hah! No way.

Sincerely,

M.A. Deofmoney,
Founder & President,
Guitar Snobs United

Any guitar with a straight neck, working truss rod, and decent frets can be TLC'd into a nice player. I have yet to meet one that hasn't.

The name on the headstock is no guarantee of junk or top quality. There are dawgs at every level. And there are gems at every level.
