The Fender Products page currently list both a 65' Mustang ($899) and a Classic Series '65 Mustang ($939)? They appear to be virtually identical. What are the differences between them?

Not actually sure.

Would be curious myself just to know.

When it was a choice between the MIJ reissue and the Squier version, I got the Squier. Immensely happy with it down to the nasty slab body like my old '64s and '65s had. Tuners even "feel" cheap like the originals did, except they work. :)

I have a '69RI MIJ Stang as well (made for their domestic market), and while it's a fine guitar, it just doesn't have that magic the Squier does. I wish it did, it hits all my buttons otherwise (no skunk stripe, etc).

My guess is one might be MIM and one might be MIJ, although I'm not sure how many of the MIJs are in the pipeline any more.
