Yea, looks like so.

Announcements hit my inbox this morning.

No real interest as I'm not a Tele guy, no matter what you do to it, but I'm sure a lot of folks will be happy.

I'm not a huge Tele fan, but that looks interesting. I also see it's available in Lake Placid blue. So often these special models are only in maybe black and sunburst.

These have been around for several years, known as a "Telemaster" (Telecaster motor in a Jazzmaster chassis).

Most aftermarket body suppliers offer this too.

It's about time that Fender went into factory production with this design; it's been a CS item for quite a while.

I can get my Jaguar to sound like a Telecaster but I doubt the opposite could happen. The first thing that stood out when I looked at these was that they chose not to go with vintage tuning pegs. I hate to say it but the big bulkier tuning pegs do not appeal with anything trying to look/be vintage.

What look like modern tuners and frets kind of ruins the vintage vibe for me. Otherwise, nicely executed.

Here's a link to a NAMM discussion of this guitar on youtube.

I kinda like it, but I'm curious about the price point for this limited production run
(only 500 in each color - LP Blue, 2-tone 'burst, and Oly White).

I'm also wondering why they didn't just use the "Telemaster" name. "Offset Telecaster" is little clunky sounding. (:^/)

I'll just play my Tele's and my Jazzmaster until they release the price info.

Thanks, Brent - I figured they would be somewhere in that ballpark.

Fender is going mad?
There is already a double cutaway Tele out there.
To where is this insanity going?
