hello
i just picked up a country gent with two supertrons in it. I was told its a 67, but I've read else where that supertrons were only put on gents in 64-65. Is this true? also how do supertrons compare to filtrons? any info about this guitar and pickups would be greatly appreciated.

I've never used a Gretsch with Supertrons but I would think that they would have more punch than the Filtertrons.

As far as I know, the Country Gentleman guitars had Supertron pickups on the neck pickup for some years, maybe '63 to '67.

The blade in the pickup made for a mellow jazz guitar sound, like the early Charlie Christian pickups.

Check out the link for finding the vintage for your guitar.

rvw
