OK finally got my audio interface ordered, the Behringer UMC404HD, and delivery today. Comes with Tracktion software.

Any thoughts on the software? Something better but no to expensive or too elaborate like Pro Tools?

I have Jammer Pro but thinking about Band in a Box to integrate into the the live recording, mostly guitar on my own. Other insturments when buds come over.

Good sources for getting started?

I don't know anything about Tracktion, but I'd be interested to hear what you think of the interface. I've been wanting to buy the UMC1820 if it ever becomes available. The release date continuing to move is not an encouraging sign IMO.

Tracktion is a fine piece of software. Low-impact, I love the mixing clarity and some of the plugins.

The caveat: it works like few other DAWs - its workflow doesn't necessarily translate over to them.

I've been using Tracktion for almost ten years now, and it's second nature.

No idea on the interface though. Suspect it's relatively solid as a few of my pro audio pals love the newer generations of Behringer digital mixers and the like it's derived from.
